TheGenius tool and accessories kit KTHEGENIUS_00

The TheGenius KTHEGENIUS_00 kit includes the tool and accessories for working on vehicle electronic control units (ECUs). It is part of the complete TheGenius package and cannot be purchased separately.

What it does

TheGenius lets you read data from an ECU, meaning extract it, and write data, meaning load it into the ECU. Where supported, it also allows cloning: copying the data to another ECU.

These operations can be carried out through the vehicle's diagnostic socket, by connecting to the ECU's connectors without opening it, or by opening the ECU and connecting to its internal circuit board. The latter two methods are referred to as working on the bench and with the ECU open, respectively.

What's included

• TheGenius tool and hard plastic carry case.
• Mains power supply with plugs and a cable for connecting the tool to a computer via a USB port.
• Adaptors for connecting to the diagnostic socket and for bench work.
• Universal cable for connecting to individual contacts, with small, medium and large terminals, clips and breakout leads.
• Battery power cable.
• Three ribbon cables and their adaptor.
• Two connectors for testing the tool's ports.

How it differs from the complete package

This kit includes the physical equipment, but does not include activation of the programming functions. To purchase the tool, choose the complete TheGenius package: its variants include the kit and combined activation for working through the diagnostic socket, on the bench and with the ECU open, for your chosen vehicle category. Activation does not need to be purchased separately.
